4 Vegetation Restoration Activities & Cost Estimates
4.1 Activity Types
The goals and objectives outlined above for each cover type can be accomplished by implementing best
management practices for ecological restoration and vegetation management. The following sections
describe the activities anticipated for vegetation restoration and maintenance around the ponds. The
activities are most effective when integrated. For example, invasive plant control should be combined with
seeding/planting to replace the invasive plant cover with desirable vegetation.Additionally, some of the
activities such as invasive shrub control and herbaceous weed control will require multiple treatments
over several years. The cost estimates provided in Section 4.2 anticipate the need for multiple treatments
during an initial 3 years of more intense vegetation restoration effort.
