The system was first constructed in the 1970's <br /> and as with other similar core functions, research, innovation and best management <br /> practices have changed over the years. <br /> Below is an overview of the Silver View Storm Water Pond project- provided by Dan <br /> Edgerton of Stantec Services: <br /> Silver View Strom Water Pond: <br /> Data collection <br /> In-pond veg surveys are done <br /> Sediment coring is done. Sediment needs to be hauled to landfill. <br /> Water quality sampling is done <br /> Upland vegetation summary memo was completed and reviewed with Don Peterson <br /> Wetland delineation field work was completed. Report expected shortly so TEP can get out and <br /> review. <br /> Field survey is scheduled to be completed in the next couple of weeks, with a focus on potential <br /> BMP locations <br /> Public engagement <br /> Mtg#1 was held on Thursday, 9/21, 5 pm. Meeting summary was submitted to Don <br /> Mtg #2 to be held after preliminary plans and concepts complete <br /> Take the recommendations to the Park Commission early 202, before going to the City Council <br /> Have the second public meeting at a City Council meeting, early 2024 <br /> Permitting <br /> Wetland permitting will be prepared as needed, subject to BMP selection <br /> Alum treatment submittal(if needed) will be prepared and submitted to MPCA <br /> Water quality assessment and watershed analysis o Based on public meeting comments, will <br /> review existing and proposed HWL in ponds relative to adjacent properties <br /> Preliminary analysis of water quality and sediment data and pond modeling have been <br /> performed, indicating majority of phosphorus loading is from the watershed and not internal <br /> loading <br /> Aquatic plant data has been assessed, showing primarily coontail and water lilies. Based on this <br /> result, we may not be allowed to remove the water lilies or coontail, as they are not non-native. <br /> We will follow up with the MnDNR on this, after which we will discuss with Don Peterson. <br /> P8 modeling has been performed <br /> Technical memo still needs to be prepared. It will cover: <br /> Data collection, analysis and modeling, results and recommendations <br />
