RESOLUTION No. xo�3-os <br />M0CJTI3S ■ iL►T CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER COMMISSION <br />Charter Commission COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Chair RESOLUTION TRANSMITTING CITIZEN PETITION AND <br />Russell Warren PROPOSING AMENDMENT TO THE MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER <br />763-786-3591 <br />Vice Chair WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View (the "City") is govemed by <br />Rebecca Scholl a home rule charter pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 410; and <br />651-503-3999 <br />WHEREAS, the City's charter commission (the "Commission") <br />2"' Vice Chair received a proposed amendment to the City's charter initiated by a petition <br />.Terry Peterson submitted pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 410.12, subdivisions 1, 2, <br />612-607-3953 and, 3 (the "Petition"), a copy of which is included as Exhibit A; and <br />Secretary WHEREAS, in accordance with Minn. Stat. 410.12, subds. 1 and 3, <br />Brian Amundsen the Commission must propose amendments to the City's charter "upon the <br />763-786-5699 petition of voters equal in number to five percent of the total votes cast at <br />Dennis Erickson the last previous state general election in the city" and transmit such <br />612-270-5293 proposals to the Mounds View City Council; and <br />Edeth James WHEREAS, there were 5048 votes cast during the November 2022 <br />763-443-5655 state general election, meaning the number of voter signatures needed is 253 <br />and the Petition appears to include 279 signatures. <br />Matthew Meehan <br />763-221.-1436 <br />Aaron Pratt <br />612-743-7494 <br />Gary Quick <br />763-786-4631 <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mounds View <br />Charter Commission, as is required by Minnesota Statutes, section 410.12, <br />subdivision 1, that the Petition -initiated amendment be transnutted to the <br />City Council for examination by the City Clerk and subsequent submission <br />to the voters as provided in Minn. Stat. 410.12, subds. 3 and 4.
