MOUNDS ViEw <br />City of Mounds View Staff R <br />Item No: 8E <br />Meeting Date: February 26, 2024 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works / Parks and Recreation <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9881, Approving the Final Payment for the 2021 Water <br />Treatment Rehabilitation Project, Plant #1 <br />Background: <br />Municipal Builders Inc. submitted the lowest responsible bid and was awarded <br />construction for the 2021 Water Treatment Rehabilitation Project, Plant 1, on April 12 <br />2021, Resolution 9419. Municipal Builders Inc. performed construction for the project in <br />2021 through 2024, and was substantially complete on September 6, 2022 the date that <br />the one-year warrantee period began. <br />A punch list was prepared after substantial completion for the remaining minor work <br />and/or repairs left to complete before project close-out. Municipal Builders Inc. <br />completed those items and has met all requirements of the contract documents in a <br />satisfactory manner. <br />The City has been withholding final payment to Municipal Builders Inc. pending <br />completion of the punch list and other project close-out requirements. The following is a <br />summary of the final construction costs: <br />Original Contract Amount: $1,827,000.00 <br />Change Orders: $245,468.38 <br />Revised Contract Amount: $2,072,468.38 <br />The remaining payment amount owed to Municipal Builders Inc. is for $34,861.97 <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the final payment to Municipal Builders Inc. <br />in the amount of $34,861.97. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br />Ensure Clean Water and Maintenance. <br />Financial Impact: No financial impact to the 2024 Budget. The 2024 Water Fund <br />budgeted $275,000.00 for Water Treatment Plant and Engineering Design, 700-4823- <br />7050. <br />Recommendation: <br />Public Works and AE2S Engineering Services recommend that the City Council adopt <br />the attached Resolution to accept the construction work and final payment of <br />$34,861.97 for the 2021 Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project, Plant 1. <br />The Mounds View Visio. <br />A Thriving Desirable Comm....� <br />
