Mounds View City Council March 11, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br />1 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9880, <br />2 Private Property Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Grant Program. <br />3 <br />4 Mayor Lindstrom stated he supported this program moving forward and appreciated the assistance <br />5 it would provide to Mounds View residents. <br />6 <br />7 Ayes — 3 Nays 0 Motion carried. <br />8 <br />9 B. Resolution 9891, Approving the Proposal from WSB for a Park System Master <br />10 Plan. <br />11 <br />12 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve a proposal <br />13 from WSB for a Park System Master Plan. He stated the City maintains 11 parks with numerous <br />14 park amenities on over 123 acres of grounds. He discussed how a park system master plan would <br />15 assist the City with addressing needs analysis and community engagement. It was noted staff <br />16 recommends the community center be part of this project. The cost proposal for this project was <br />17 further reviewed and staff recommends approval of the proposal from WSB. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Lindstrom questioned if a task force committee would be created for this project. Public <br />20 Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported WSB was recommending a steering <br />21 committee be created for this project. <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Lindstrom asked when work would begin on this project. Public Works/Parks and <br />24 Recreation Director Peterson noted work would begin in April or May and would be wrapped up <br />25 by the end of the year. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member Meehlhause inquired how the steering committee would be formed. Public <br />28 Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson anticipated user groups and volunteers would be <br />29 asked to serve on the steering committee, along with members from the Parks, Recreation and <br />30 Forestry Commission. <br />31 <br />32 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9891, <br />33 Approving the Proposal from WSB for a Park System Master Plan. <br />34 <br />35 Council Member Meehlhause stated he fully supported the City moving forward with the creation <br />36 of a Park System Master Plan. <br />37 <br />38 Ayes — 3 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />39 <br />40 C. Resolution 9890, Organized Trash Hauling Negotiations. <br />41 <br />42 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council adopt a resolution regarding organized trash <br />43 hauling negotiations. He explained the Council addressed this matter in a workshop last <br />44 Wednesday. He stated it was staff s recommendation to terminate negotiations at this time and to <br />45 restart the options committee. <br />46 <br />
