<br />Item #: 6A <br />Meeting Date: January 19, 2023 <br />Type of Business: EDC <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Economic Development Commission <br />From: Brian Beeman, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Appoint 2023 EDC Chairperson and Vice Chairperson <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Per the following Section 408.07 of the Mounds View City Code: <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Organization: At the first regular meeting of the year, the Commission shall <br />appoint a chairperson from among its voting members. This appointment shall be <br />subject to Authority approval and shall consist of a one (1) year term. The position <br />of chair shall rotate among members, with no Commissioner serving in that <br />capacity for more than two (2) consecutive terms. The Commission shall also <br />elect a vice-chair from among its appointed members for a term of one (1) year. <br />The Commission may create and fill such other offices from its members as it may <br />determine to transact Commission business. <br /> <br />Current and past EDC Members highlighting past Chairpersons is attached. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Consistent with City Code, Staff recommends that the EDC make a motion <br />recommending appointment of the 2023 EDC Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to the <br />EDA.
