RESOLUTION NO. 9924 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR SGT. DISON AND <br />OFFICER LEVOIR TO ATTEND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN <br />POLICE (IAWP) CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO ILLINOIS. <br />WHEREAS, the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Conference <br />is being held in Chicago Illinois from Sept. 1-5 2024, and; <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed employee feedback and officers have requested <br />out of state training, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is continuing to promote <br />training, networking, and professional development within the agency, and; <br />WHEREAS, the benefits of the conference include the unique opportunity to <br />meet women in law enforcement who share similar experiences and unusual <br />challenges, and; <br />WHEREAS, some of the topics covered at the conference include leadership, <br />investigation, wellness and self -care, technology solutions, and equity, inclusion, and <br />diversity, and; <br />WHEREAS, the cost for both officers IAWP membership, discounted registration <br />for the conference, and the hotel accommodations costs approximately $2,567.54. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the out of state travel expenses <br />for Sgt.
