Past recipients of this award include: <br />2004 <br />David Jahnke <br />2014 <br />Theresa Cermak <br />2005 <br />Frank Silvis <br />2015 <br />Gordy Fedor and Paul Fedor <br />2006 <br />Ed Lanz <br />2016 <br />Virgil Beyer <br />2007 <br />Don Hodges <br />2017 <br />Betty Wall <br />2008 <br />Barbara Haake <br />2018 <br />Penny Howard <br />2009 <br />Diane Wuori <br />2019 <br />Amy Hodges <br />2010 <br />Jean Miller <br />2020 <br />George Winiecki <br />2011 <br />Jerry Skelly <br />2021 <br />Chuck Howard <br />2012 <br />Greg Belting <br />2022 <br />Kathie Anderson <br />2013 <br />Gary Stevenson <br />Discussion: <br />The City of Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have demonstrated <br />initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance exemplifies the spirit of giving back, <br />and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts. <br />The City received three nominations for the 2023 Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award. The nominations <br />were reviewed by the City Council during the March 25, 2024 Council meeting. A decision was made to <br />designate the 2023 Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award to two candidates. At this time, the City will <br />recognize one nominee, Former Mayor Al Hull. <br />Staff is in the process of locating the second nominee. Information will be delivered to Council when the <br />nominee is located. <br />The Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award will be presented at a future City Council Meeting, date to be <br />selected by recipient/family members. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Increase community engagement.
