Mounds View City Council April 8, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br />1 Council Member Meehlhause reported NYFS would be holding a finance committee meeting next <br />2 week. He indicated he would be attending the Community Support Services luncheon on April 18. <br />3 He noted he would also be attending the CPY luncheon on April 23. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Lindstrom stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be doing an Earth Day Clean <br />6 Up at 12:00 p.m. at Silver View Park on April 21. He commented further on the clothing drive <br />7 that was being sponsored in partnership with Disability Motivation and encouraged residents to <br />8 participate in the clothing drive. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Lindstrom commented on a collaboration conversation that was held surrounding a <br />11 potential project with the County and school district. He explained four other cities were also in <br />12 attendance at a meeting, along with Commissioner Frethem, Commissioner Jeppson, and <br />13 Commissioner Meisner. He reported another meeting would be held on April 30, where additional <br />14 guests would be in attendance. <br />15 <br />16 Mayor Lindstrom encouraged all residents in Mounds View to get out and vote for at the <br />17 Community Center for a vacant Council Member seat and also on the proposed charter amendment <br />18 regarding organized collection. <br />19 <br />20 B. Reports of Staff. <br />21 <br />22 Finance Director Bauman reported the audit was still moving along. <br />23 <br />24 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated the Public Works crew would be <br />25 planting trees for Earth Day on Friday, April 26 at Groveland Park at 12:00 p.m. <br />26 <br />27 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained the City was working to hire <br />28 seasonal workers for summer programs. <br />29 <br />30 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated Water Treatment Plant 2 was up and <br />31 operational. <br />32 <br />33 City Administrator Zikmund reported the Council would be holding a Special Worksession <br />34 meeting on Monday, April 15 along with a Special City Council meeting where the election results <br />35 will be canvased and the new Council Member will be sworn in. <br />36 <br />37 City Administrator Zikmund explained four of the City's flock cameras went into operation on <br />38 Friday, April 5. He noted a felony arrest was made in the community on this same day. He <br />39 indicated six of the ten cameras should be operational by the end of this week. He commented <br />40 further on how the flock camera system worked to assist the Mounds View Police Department. <br />41 <br />42 City Administrator Zikmund commented on the SBM Fire Department staffing concerns that were <br />43 discussed by Fire Chief Retka at last week's worksession meeting. He noted a safer grant was <br />44 being considered by the City of Mounds View, which would assist with paying salaries for full <br />45 time fire fighters. <br />46 <br />
