<br />Governmental Activities - Governmental activities decreased the City's net position by $1,231,521 in the
<br />current year, compared to a decrease of $1,912,902 reported last year. Key elements of this change are seen
<br />in the table above.
<br />Revenues for governmental activities increased by $1,889,278 over the prior year. Improved
<br />investment earnings and an increase in the approved property tax levy were key factors in this
<br />change.
<br />• Government activities expenses were also up, increasing by $1,098,537 in the current year. An
<br />increase in economic development payments and natural inflationary increases contributed to the
<br />increase over the prior year. More expenses for street maintenance were a factor for the growth
<br />over the prior year.
