2024 MVPD Quarter 1 Report <br />Page 2 <br />Goal C: Network with other communities and organizations <br />1. Continued partnership with the Mounds View Police Foundation <br />2. Partnered with the Festival in the Park committee in planning a new parade route <br />3. Officers participated in the Polar Plunge where we raised almost $2,400 for <br />Special Olympics MN <br />4. Continued partnership with Ramsey County Attorney's Office with Collaborative <br />Sexual Assault Reform and beginning cooperation for DNA evidence collection <br />for gun cases <br />5. NRO continuing to work on the apartment coalition program along with New <br />Brighton Public Safety and Roseville PD <br />6. NRO continuing to work with Northeast Youth and Family Services to provide <br />mental health consulting and community support services <br />7. 2 Officers were presented with the Life Saving Award <br />Goal D: Expand on New Americans Academy and Pre -Party for Night to Unite, as well <br />as ID & creating regular meetings with Neighborhood Captains program <br />1. Plans are being made for Safety Camp as well as the Senior Safety and <br />Wellness Fair <br />Goal E: Speeding: Address the speeding issue by potentially closing some streets, <br />adding speed bumps, and communicating to the public the PD is stepping up its speed <br />enforcement, advertise the actual fines in the Newsletter, and come with a catchy <br />slogan similar to "Click it or Ticket" only for speeding. "Obey the sign or Pay the Fine." <br />1. Continued speed and traffic enforcement efforts on social media and other <br />platforms <br />2. Received 2 new solar speed signs that will be deployed throughout the city when <br />feasible <br />Financial Impact: No financial impact. This is the quarterly status report that requires <br />no funding. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the City Council hear an update of the 2024 quarter 1 report and ask <br />questions as necessary. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Ben Zender <br />Chief of Police <br />
