INVESTIGATOR ERICKSON 2024 QUARTER 1 INVESTIGATIVE HIGHLIGHTS <br />In the 2024 1st quarter, 14 cases were investigated by Investigator Erickson. Of those <br />cases, 7 cases were charged out by arrest. 6 cases are still under investigation. <br />Among the cases: <br />• 1 Violation of Order for Protection <br />• 4 DWI Related Arrests <br />• 2 Theft Cases <br />• 1 Weapon involved case <br />• 1 Motor Vehicle Theft Investigation <br />• 1 Domestic Assault Investigations <br />• 1 Fraud/Forgery Investigation <br />• 1 Criminal Sexual Conduct Investigation <br />• 1 Assault Cases <br />• 1 False Info to Police Violation <br />Criminal Sexual Conduct <br />On 2-16-2024, Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Mounds View Blvd for a <br />sexual assault that had just occurred. Officers met with the victim who stated that a <br />male she met off a dating App several months ago, showed up at her apartment and <br />sexually assaulted her. She had not seen the male since they dated months ago. The <br />victim was transported to the Hospital where a SANE Exam was completed. The case <br />is still under investigation. <br />Fraud/Counterfeit Currency <br />On 2-14-2024, Mounds View PD Officers took a report from a convenience store stating <br />that a customer paid for a $12.92-dollar carton of cigarettes with a counterfeit 100-dollar <br />bill. Through the investigation, surveillance footage was obtained and the suspect on <br />camera was identified. Investigator Erickson was able to locate the suspect and <br />interview him. The case has been submitted to the Mounds View City Attorney for <br />charges. <br />Motor Vehicle Theft <br />On 3-24-24, Mounds View PD Officer took a report for a stolen vehicle. The victim <br />reported that her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot where she lives. It was later <br />found in the investigation that the victim had left her credit card in the vehicle. Through <br />the investigation, it was found that the credit card was used in Minneapolis at a <br />McDonald's and a Deli. Investigator Erickson obtained surveillance footage of the <br />transactions and was able to identify the suspect. Further investigations into the <br />suspect led to the suspect's accomplice assisting with the transactions. The case is still <br />under investigation. <br />Violation Order for Protection <br />On 1-9-2024, Officers took a report for a Violation of an Order for Protection. The caller <br />stated that her ex-husband texted her on New Year's Eve. The case was investigated <br />proving that the ex-husband contacted the victim. The suspect was criminally charged <br />with violating the Order for Protection. <br />
