Mounds View City Council May 13, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 13 <br />1 Council Member Gunn reviewed the recent edition of the Mounds View Matters and noted there <br />2 was valuable information with contact numbers for Xcel Energy, Public Works, City Hall and <br />3 Ramsey County. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Lindstrom asked when the striping and parking concerns on Groveland Road would be <br />6 addressed by the City. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained he could <br />7 address this concern. <br />8 <br />9 Mayor Lindstrom indicated on Wednesday he had a call with Commissioner Frethem. <br />10 <br />1 1 Mayor Lindstrom explained he would be attending the Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on <br />12 Thursday, May 16. <br />13 <br />14 Mayor Lindstrom reported he received an invite from Ramsey County Commissioner Candidate <br />15 Jebens-Singh and he would be attending coffee with Melvin Carter on Thursday, May 16. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Lindstrom explained he applied for a position on the Post Board. <br />18 <br />19 B. Reports of Staff. <br />20 <br />21 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the <br />22 2022/2023 street improvement project. He explained a price was received for the modifications to <br />23 the wings, noting the bid was $20,000 higher than the previous contractor and this was only for <br />24 eight driveways. He reported continuing conversations would be held on this topic and he would <br />25 update the Council on May 28. <br />26 <br />27 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated the 2024 street project has been <br />28 postponed. He described how the parking along Edgewood Drive and the parking lot off of <br />29 Bronson Drive has been amended. The Council supported the proposed changes. <br />30 <br />31 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained he has been meeting with Stantec <br />32 to discuss grants for Ardan and Silver View Parks. He was pleased to report these grants could be <br />33 used for future maintenance within the parks. He noted the first grant was due in June and the <br />34 second was due in September. <br />35 <br />36 Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road asked if he could install his own driveway wings to ensure <br />37 it was done properly and receive payment from the City for this work. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Lindstrom requested the City Administrator follow up with Mr. Meyer regarding this <br />40 matter. <br />41 <br />42 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson asked if the Council supported him pursuing <br />43 the grants for Ardan and Silver View Parks. The Council offered their support for this project. <br />44 <br />
