Mounds View City Council May 13, 2024 Regular Meeting Page 5 1 Council Member Cermak stated she believed the contractor was doing a great job based on how 2 the meter at her four-plex was replaced. 3 4 Council Member Clark indicated her water meter was replaced as well and she has had no 5 problems. 6 7 Mr. Mueller asked if a licensed plumber were brought in to change the valve, would this require a 8 permit from the City. City Administrator Zikmund stated he would look into this and would follow 9 up with Mr. Mueller. 10 11 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS 12 A. PUBLIC HEARING: Resolution 9915, Approving an Amendment to the 13 Conditional Use Permit for the Property at 2375 Mounds View Boulevard to 14 allow Auto Body Work and Auto Painting. 15 16 Kristin Baldonado, Planner at Stantec, requested the City consider an amendment to the 17 Conditional Use Permit for the property at 2375 Mounds View Boulevard to allow auto body work 18 and auto painting. She explained auto body work and auto painting was not currently allowed 19 under the current CUP, which was issued in 1992. She reported the applicant was not proposing 20 any exterior changes to the building. She commented further on the request and recommended 21 approval with conditions. 22 23 Council Member Meehlhause reported the exterior of the property may change slightly, noting the 24 conditions for approval would require an enclosed area to house the damaged cars. 25 26 , representative for the applicant, noted there were 35 spaces behind the 27 building that were fully screened by the pine trees at the rear property line. She reported the 28 property owners would be willing to install additional screening if necessary. 29 30 Mayor Lindstrom opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. 31 32 Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road, asked if the paint booth was up to code. He expressed 33 concern with the fumes that would be going into the community from an auto body paint booth. 34 35 Melanie Emery, representative for the applicant, reported there was no paint booth at this time. 36 She commented further on how the City regulates auto body uses within the Highway B-3 zoning 37 district. She explained any paint booth installed would have to comply with all City Codes. 38 39 Rebecca Scholl, 2467 Hillview, stated regarding code compliance, codes are only enforced if the 40 city has adopted the code. She questioned if the City had any code for paint booths. City 41 Administrator Zikmund reported the City of Mounds View has State codes in place with respect 42 to paint booths within the building and fire code that were adopted by Ordinance. 43 44 Hearing no further public input, Mayor Lindstrom closed the public hearing at 7:24 p.m. 45 46 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause.
