-2- <br /> 4. Trash can covers are needed to help <br /> eliminate the number of bees on the <br /> beach. • <br /> 5. Staff sweat suits with "GUARD" on the <br /> back are proposed. <br /> 6. A movable sign stating "OPEN or CLOSED" <br /> is needed in case the beach is forced <br /> to close due to inclement weather. <br /> 7 . New picnic tables and playground <br /> equipment for park area is needed. <br /> 8. The retaining wall is showing wear and <br /> will need to be rebuilt within a few <br /> years. It was suggested that a <br /> service organization such as Jaycees or <br /> Lions be contacted for assistance. <br /> A video of the vandalism done to the <br /> beachhouse was presented. Gordy Kurella <br /> asked when the clean-up and repair of the <br /> beachhouse would be done. Aquatics <br /> Supervisor Lindquist stated that the work <br /> will be done in the spring by the beach <br /> staff. Mr. Kurella suggested that a person <br /> doing restitution time be used, thus saving <br /> the cities the cost of staff time. Staff • <br /> will look into the possibility. <br /> The proposed 1988 budget is $10 ,500 from <br /> each city. The Commissions directed <br /> Aquatics Supervisor Lindquist to meet with <br /> Director Saarion and Director McCluskey to <br /> prioritize the improvements at Lakeside and <br /> present it to the Commissions at the spring <br /> joint meeting. <br /> PRESENTATION BY <br /> MARY BRADLEY Mary Bradley, Co-Chairperson of the <br /> Pinewood Playground Design Committee <br /> presented information on the proposed <br /> playground for Pinewood School. She <br /> invited the Commissioners to attend the <br /> Pinewood "Design Day" on November 18 and <br /> asked for their endorsement of the project. <br /> Chairperson Burmeister directed staff to <br /> draft a letter of endorsement of the <br /> project by the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the. <br /> August 27 , 1987 minutes as written. The <br /> motion passed unanimously, 6 ayes , 0 nayes. <br />
