MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDI?.GS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> • <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> July 16 , 1987 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6: 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. <br /> by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Starr, Burmeister, • <br /> Silvis, Long, Rowley <br /> Commissioners absent: Daniels, Anderson <br /> Councilmembers present : Hankner <br /> Staff present: Director Saarion, <br /> Administrative Assistant Linke <br /> Visitors: Richard Kops, 2147 Oakwood Dr. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the <br /> June 25, 1987 minutes as written. The motion <br /> • passed unanimously; 5 ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> CHAIRPERSON' S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported that trees <br /> were taken down on the southwest side of the <br /> Manor Home drive and requested staff to <br /> find out if they were City trees. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER' S <br /> REPORT Councilmember Hankner reported that the <br /> Random Park classroom building will be on the <br /> council meeting agenda to hear the comments <br /> and concerns of citizens. <br /> RESIDENT CONCERN Resident Richard Kops requested to address the <br /> Commission regarding his concerns at Oakwood <br /> Park. Mr. Kops expressed concern about usage <br /> of Oakwood Park by baseball teams and older <br /> softball teams. He said he had experienced <br /> occasions when foul tips were hit into his <br /> yard and felt that it was a dangerous <br /> situation. <br /> Staff explained the policy on field permits <br /> and the amount of usage of fields expecially <br /> early in the spring. Chairperson Burmeister <br /> added that the Commission did not choose to <br /> • change their current policy on field usage. <br />
