MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> • <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by <br /> Acting Chairperson Silvis. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Stevenson, Silvis, Rowley, <br /> Long. <br /> Commissioners absent: Starr, Burmeister, Anderson <br /> Councilmembers present: Wuori and Hankner <br /> Staff present: Director Saarion, Administrative <br /> Assistant Linke and Lt. Brick. <br /> Visitors: Bob and Kathryn Carpenter, 2650 Lake Court <br /> Drive; Jackie Entsminger, 7954 Long Lake Rd. ; John <br /> and Florence Bargy, 7927 Greenfield Ave. ; Randy <br /> Miller, 7409 Parkview Dr. ; Dave Rademacher, 7421 <br /> Parkview Dr. ; David Stanton, 5091 Longview Dr. <br /> MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Stevenson, seconded <br /> • by Commissioner Long to approved the August 25, 1988 <br /> minutes as written. Motion passed 4 ayes , 0 nayes. <br /> PARK SECURITY <br /> DISCUSSION Director Saarion welcomed representatives from <br /> different neighborhood park areas and asked for their <br /> suggestions for increasing security in our parks. <br /> Residents responded, by park, with the following <br /> problems and possible remedies to the problems. <br /> GREENFIELD PARK <br /> Problems: <br /> 1. Destruction of bleacher backs. <br /> 2. Satellite being tipped over. <br /> 3. Hockey playing on tennis courts. <br /> 4. Crawling on backstop. <br /> 5. Lights remaining on past curfew at tennis <br /> courts. <br /> 6. Excessive noise. <br /> 7. Climbing on basketball standard. <br /> 8. Youth present after curfew. <br /> 9. Trash cans thrown in creek. <br /> 10. Damage to surrounding residential property. <br /> • 11. Burning of bridges. <br /> 12. Three wheelers and motorcycles on trailways. <br />
