Staff stated that the <br /> teams scheduled by the Park and <br /> Recreation Department for usage of the • <br /> field do not normally have the <br /> potential of hitting balls over the <br /> fence. Youth playing pick-up baseball <br /> games are probably responsible for <br /> this and the department has no control <br /> over pick-up games. The Commission <br /> felt that the installation of an 8 <br /> foot outfield fence would help <br /> alleviate the problem. <br /> Mrs. Entsminger asked when the <br /> redevelopment would begin. Staff <br /> stated that the City Council must first <br /> approve the proposal and appropriate <br /> spending tor the completion. <br /> Resident Dale Bently expressed concern <br /> with parking cars on the residential <br /> side of the street. He has experienced <br /> turf damage to his lawn and requests <br /> that parking be on the park side only <br /> and that NO PARKING signs be posted on <br /> the residential side on Hillview, <br /> Greenwood and Long Lake Roads. The <br /> Commission added that the proposal • <br /> includes diagonal off street parking on <br /> Hillview which should help alleviate <br /> the parking problem. <br /> Director Saarion explained the lighting <br /> proposal , options and funds available <br /> for the project. <br /> The Commission suggested that three of <br /> the present southernly facing lights <br /> be utilized for the 1988-89 skating <br /> season by turning them towards the <br /> pleasure rink and make the hockey rink <br /> available only during the daylight <br /> hours. Staff conveyed concern about the <br /> safety of sub-standard lighting and <br /> about the possibility that the whole <br /> electrical system is interwoven. Staff <br /> will discuss the possibility of <br /> dividing the system. <br /> • <br />
