MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />May 25, 1989 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />Council Chambers <br />CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by <br />Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. <br />ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Burmeister, Long, Silvis, <br />Starr, Stevenson and Trettel. <br />Staff present: Director Saarion <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Silvis made a motion which was <br />seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the <br />minutes of April 27, 1989. Motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 <br />nayes. <br />CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister updated the Commission <br />regarding additional appropriations from the Spring <br />Lake Park Lion's Club for Lakeside Park <br />improvements. These appropriations are ear -marked <br />for the retaining wall and beachhouse patio. <br />REPORT ON PARK CLEAN-UP Commissioner Starr reported on the clean-up at <br />Hillview Park. She said that five eager, hardworking <br />people helped clean, weed and rake Hillview Park. <br />A thank you letter is being sent to each person. <br />Commissioner Starr also reported that several people <br />came and stopped at the park, inquired about the <br />activity, but did not help. <br />Commissioner Trettel reported on the clean-up at <br />Silver View Park pond. Several truckloads of junk <br />were hauled out of the pond and litter was collected <br />along the pathway. Commissioner Trettel announced <br />the businesses that donated food including Dominoes <br />Pizza and Super America. <br />Staff has submitted articles and pictures to both local <br />papers although, the articles at this date, had not <br />been published. Letters of thanks to the helpers will <br />be sent to those whose names we have. <br />
