1. Marketing - with the City Newsletter, flyers, <br />signs in parks and articles in newspaper. <br />2. Who would participate? It was suggested that <br />groups such as scouts, churches and <br />neighborhoods could be involved. <br />3. Incentives - such as t -shirts, recognition in city <br />newsletter, open swim coupons, pot luck <br />dinner could be used. <br />4. How would the program work? Participants <br />would sign up by calling the City and be <br />provided with trash bags and location to place <br />the trash. The City would pick up the trash <br />bags. <br />A motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister, <br />seconded by Commissioner Silvis to direct staff to <br />advertise the "Adopt a Park"/"Park Clean Up" <br />program, provide trash bags and arrange for <br />scheduling. Motion passed: 6 ayes, 0 nayes. <br />B. School District Senior Center_ plans. - Director <br />Saarion reported that the congregate dining <br />program will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church <br />until the completion of the Shoreview Community <br />Center at which time the program will be moved <br />to that location. <br />C. Joint Meeting in May at Lakeside Park. Staff <br />stated that plans regarding the dedication will be <br />reviewed at the May meeting. The date for the <br />dedication is scheduled for Saturday, June q. <br />D. Park Projects Update. Staff reported that the <br />interior of Hillview Park had been remodeled and <br />that the ceiling of Groveland Park was replaced <br />with particle board, and cedar wall decorations <br />have been completed. <br />REQUEST FOR RESOLUTION REGARDING <br />TRAFFIC IMPACT ON GROVELAND PARK <br />DUE TO HWY. 610 EXTENSION Commissioner Stevenson requested that the <br />Commission write a resolution expressing their <br />concerns for increased traffic flow by Groveland Park <br />if the Highway 610 extension is routed down roads <br />west of Groveland Park. He indicated that it was not <br />his request that the Commission endorse any specific <br />alternative. <br />n <br />
