MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />August 16, 1990 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />6:30 p.m. <br />CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:36 p.m. by <br />Chairperson Burmeister. <br />ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Burmeister, Long, Trettel, <br />Stevenson, Starr and Silvis. <br />Staff present: Director Saarion <br />MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br />seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the <br />July 18, 1990 minutes as written. Motion passed: 5 <br />ayes, 0 nayes. <br />CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported on park <br />development at Lakeside Park . He informed the <br />Commission that peat material needed to be removed <br />in one section of the pathway near the softball field <br />and also the need for additional material for fill. <br />GREENFIELD PARK The Commission members drove to Greenfield Park <br />to observe the progress of the baseball field <br />improvement project and to inspect the playground <br />equipment. <br />A resident notified the department of his concern <br />regarding a cable rope on the play equipment at <br />Greenfield. The cable rope is to be used as a <br />monkey climb from pole to pole. Evidently, the <br />resident's daughter, 9 years old, had used the rope as <br />a high -wire and attempted to walk on the rope. She <br />fell and bruised her tailbone. <br />1 <br />
