RESOLUTION 9936 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY CREATION AND EMPOWERMENT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the city of Mounds View diverse population now comprises nearly 1/3 of the entire community, and WHEREAS, Council has placed a high priority on ensuring all residents/guests are equal, respected, heard, represented, and engaged, and WHEREAS, Council created a Human Rights Task Force in 2021/2022 which subsequently dissolved due to member life events, and WHEREAS, residents Shauna Bock and Andre Koen have agreed to Co -Chair a Community engagement Committee, and WHEREAS, the Committee will be open to members and volunteers, staffed by the City Administrator, and assisted by council as requested and approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. That the City hereby establishes a Community Engagement Committee to be co-chaired by Shauna Bock and Andre Koen. 2. That residents can apply to serve/and or volunteer on the committee. 3. The Committee Tag Line/Mission will be Welcome. Home. a. Welcome — To ensure all residents/guests feel welcome — safe, supported, valued. b. Home — For those who reside, having the services, amenities, opportunities, and housing diversity ensuring desired quality of life for the place to live and raise a family. 4. The Committee shall be staffed by the City Administrator and report to and supported by council as requested and approved, 5. The Committee shall be advisory to the council in nature. 6. The Committee shall have a primary focus of "listening/obtaining" feedback to ensure fulfillment of their Mission and will endeavor to hold listening sessions and providing barrier free feedback forums and opportunities. 7. That staff will work with the Committee to eliminate/remove all racial covenants on property titles/deeds throughout our community.
