RESOLUTION 9936 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CREATION AND EMPOWERMENT <br />OF COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, the city of Mounds View diverse population now comprises nearly 1/3 <br />of the entire community, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has placed a high priority on ensuring all residents/guests are <br />equal, respected, heard, represented, and engaged, and <br />WHEREAS, Council created a Human Rights Task Force in 2021/2022 which <br />subsequently dissolved due to member life events, and <br />WHEREAS, residents Shauna Bock and Andre Koen have agreed to Co -Chair a <br />Community engagement Committee, and <br />WHEREAS, the Committee will be open to members and volunteers, staffed by <br />the City Administrator, and assisted by council as requested and approved. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. That the City hereby establishes a Community Engagement Committee to be <br />co-chaired by Shauna Bock and Andre Koen. <br />2. That residents can apply to serve/and or volunteer on the committee. <br />3. The Committee Tag Line/Mission will be Welcome. Home. <br />a. Welcome — To ensure all residents/guests feel welcome — safe, <br />supported, valued. <br />b. Home — For those who reside, having the services, amenities, <br />opportunities, and housing diversity ensuring desired quality of life for <br />the place to live and raise a family. <br />4. The Committee shall be staffed by the City Administrator and report to and <br />supported by council as requested and approved, <br />5. The Committee shall be advisory to the council in nature. <br />6. The Committee shall have a primary focus of "listening/obtaining" feedback to <br />ensure fulfillment of their Mission and will endeavor to hold listening sessions <br />and providing barrier free feedback forums and opportunities. <br />7. That staff will work with the Committee to eliminate/remove all racial covenants <br />on property titles/deeds throughout our community. <br />
