RESOLUTION NO. 9931 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR OFFICER AASE AND <br />OFFICER KAMMERER TO ATTEND A BALLISTIC SHIELD TRAINING COURSE IN <br />ALTOONA, IOWA. <br />WHEREAS, the ballistic shield training course is being held in Altoona, Iowa on <br />November 14-15, 2024, and; <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed employee feedback and officers have requested <br />out of state training, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is continuing to promote <br />training, networking, and professional development within the agency, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department recently purchased a ballistic <br />shield and we need instructors to train the agency on the ballistic shield, and; <br />WHEREAS, this course is designed to teach various methods of ballistic shield <br />use during tactical clearing. This includes firearms drills with the shield and the use of <br />officer shield teams, and; <br />WHEREAS, the cost for both officers to attend the training and the hotel <br />accommodations costs are approximately $ 1,109.55. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the out of state travel expenses <br />for Officer Aase and Officer Kammerer to attend a ballistic shield training course in <br />Altoona Iowa with an approximate cost of $ 1,109.55 from Account 480-4200-3630 <br />(2023 Public Safety Aid money). <br />Adopted this loth day of June 2024. <br />Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
