• MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> Thursday, March 23 , 1995 <br /> 6: 30 p.m. , City Hall <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present included Burmeister, Dentz , <br /> Long, and Silvis. City Council Liaison Gary Quick <br /> was also present as well as Director Saarion. <br /> Visitors included Zack Hanson and Fawsy Awad, <br /> representatives of the Department of Solid Waste, <br /> Ramsey County. <br /> APPROVAL OF <br /> MINUTES : Commissioner Silvis made a motion, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Dentz to approve the minutes of the <br /> February 16, 1995. Motion was approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> • ARDAN PARK <br /> IMPROVEMENTS: Zack Hanson and Fawsy Awad were invited to the <br /> meeting to discuss ways that Ramsey County can <br /> improve the aesthetics of compost facility. <br /> Several options were suggested including a <br /> landscape design for plantings to screen the <br /> compost area, compost display areas for <br /> educational purposes, landscaped entrance to the <br /> park, vines on the fences, replacement of the <br /> fence and other options. Zack Hanson said that he <br /> would initiate a plan for the beautification of <br /> the compost area of Ardan Park in order to be good <br /> neighbors. In addition, the Commission asked <br /> Zack' s opinion as to the benefit of purchasing the <br /> two lots that abut the park. Zack indicated that <br /> the extra land would benefit the compost facility <br /> and park because it would allow additional space <br /> and more border area from neighboring residences. <br /> If the properties were to become available, Ramsey <br /> County would look into the possible purchase. <br /> MVAA REQUEST <br /> FOR BLDG. : MVAA Representative Ernie Lepore was present to <br /> discuss the request of MVAA for space to construct <br /> a building to house MVAA equipment and uniforms. <br /> • The City Attorney' s draft property lease agreement <br /> was reviewed. The Commission had previously <br /> discussed items which they wanted included in the <br /> lease agreement. All concerns were included in <br />
