• MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> Thursday, July 27 , 1995 <br /> 6: 30 p.m. City Hall <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present included Burmeister, Dentz, <br /> Silvis, Long and Starr. Members absent - <br /> Stevenson. Also present was Jim Theurer from <br /> Ramsey County and Director Saarion. <br /> APPROVAL OF <br /> MINUTES : The minutes of June 22 were approved unanimously. <br /> RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> PRESENTATION: Jim Theurer from Ramsey County presented the <br /> results of the Vision 2000 project regarding the <br /> issues of Parks and Open Space. The visions for <br /> the future were shared with printed materials. A <br /> • <br /> questionnaire was distributed, completed and <br /> returned to Jim which asked for the Commissioners <br /> views on the proposed vision as well as logged <br /> demographic information. <br /> PLAYGROUND <br /> EQUIPMENT: Director Saarion, at the request of Councilmember <br /> Trude brought to the Commission the issue of <br /> playground equipment that has been deemed as <br /> potentially dangerous to children. An article <br /> printed both in the papers as well as the League <br /> of Cities magazine was reviewed. After discussion <br /> regarding the issue of taking out the equipment or <br /> keeping them in, the Commission agreed to the <br /> following recommendation. Commission Starr made a <br /> motion to recommend to the City Council removal of <br /> the playground equipment in question as <br /> replacement funds are available for replacement <br /> playground equipment. The motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Long. The motion was unanimously <br /> approved. <br /> PED. BRIDGE: The Commission inquired about the pedestrian <br /> bridge. Staff informed the Commission that the <br /> City Council had requested the City Administrator <br /> • to obtain an opinion from the City Attorney' s <br /> office regarding the use of TIF funds for this <br /> project. A letter had been received which stated <br /> the opinion that this project is within the uses <br />
