6 . <br /> MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> MINUTES <br /> Thursday, April 25, 1996 <br /> 6:30 p.m. Conf. Rm. C <br /> • <br /> Commissioners met at Woodcrest Park before the meeting was called to order to observe the <br /> conditions at Woodcrest Park. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: <br /> Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.. <br /> ROLL CALL: <br /> • Commissioners present included Burmeister, Gunn, Starr, Dentz, Silvis, and Stevenson. Director <br /> Saarion and Park Maintenance Worker Dazenski was also in attendance. Visitor was Jeff Voyen, <br /> PE, American Engineering and Testing, Inc. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> Commissioner Silvis made a motion seconded by Commissioner Dentz to approve the minutes of <br /> February 22, 1996. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR RANDOM PARK <br /> Commissioners looked over the four proposals provided for playground equipment at Random <br /> Park. All Commissioners were attracted to the proposal presented by MN/WISC Playground, <br /> Inc. The play structure was deemed most favorable and appropriate for preschool age <br /> participants. Colors were decided and agreed upon. Colors included Teal posts, Purple slides, <br /> tan platforms and cranberry handrails. Tic Tac Toe panel it was decided should be replaced with <br /> something else. Motion was made by Commissioner Starr and seconded by Commissioner Gunn <br /> to recommend award playground bid by MN/WISC Playground Inc. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Staff will prepare recommendation for approval from City Council for purchase. <br /> WOODCREST PARK IMPROVEMENTS - DISCUSSION: <br /> • Commissioners observed the physical challenges at Woodcrest Park including the open storm <br /> water ditches, uneven landscape, abutting wetland properties, and drainage problems.
