• MOUNDS VIEW Exhibit A <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> August 25, 1999, 6:30 p.m. <br /> Minutes <br /> Commissioners present: Frank Silvis, Mary Benz, Dave Long, Gary Stevenson, Stan <br /> McDonald, Sherry Gunn, Dawn Little, Theresa Lexcen, and Rob Marty(Council <br /> Liason). <br /> Commissioners absent: Rich Sonterre <br /> Staff present: Terri Blattenbauer(YMCA) <br /> A motion was made to approve the minutes from July 28 and special meeting on August <br /> 16 by Sherry, seconded by Stan. <br /> Staff updated the Commission on the status of the construction of Silverview Pond trail <br /> completion. Work should begin on September 1 and completion is tentatively scheduled <br /> in 2 '/2 weeks. Prep work has already begun. Skye Management has been given Right of <br /> Entry paperwork to be completed and allows construction to affect their property. <br /> • Six guests were present to discuss the water lillie issue on Silverview pond. Cliff Ash, a <br /> resident adjacent to the pond brought some issues to the Commission. The information <br /> included DNR approved pellets for removal of lillies, discussion on the weeds and lack of <br /> vistas, cucumber vine and felt the need for sealcoating of the existing path surrounding '/2 <br /> the pond. The resident group expressed a willingness to help clean up with some <br /> guidance. The Commission directed staff to work with Rick Wriskey on organizing a <br /> clean up. Staff will also explore the cost of seal coating. Forming a sub committee to <br /> review an existing plan or to develop one will be an agenda item at the next meeting. <br /> Staff update on park dedication projects included: <br /> • Changing space/showers: <br /> Council requested plan on how to keep area safe. Pursuing TIF funds, <br /> and providing council with information on architectural fees, and <br /> added cost projections. <br /> • VB court lighting at CH: <br /> Acquiring bids <br /> • Pathway, Silver Lk. Road: <br /> Current construction <br /> • Drinking fountain updating: <br /> Purchasing equipment for updating to be done by Park employees. <br /> • Backstop net at Greenfield: <br /> • Staff waiting on confirmation of needs and costs. Approximately <br /> $1,245 needed for 3rd base line and new backstop net. <br />
