MOUNDS VIEW Exhibit A <br /> • <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> June 23, 1999 6:30 p.m. <br /> Minutes <br /> Commissioners present: Sherry Gunn, Frank Silvis, Gary Stevenson, Stan McDonald, <br /> Dave Long, and Rob Marty (Council Liason). <br /> Commissioners absent: Mary Benz <br /> Pam Starr has resigned the remainder of her position on the Commission. <br /> Staff present: Terri Blattenbauer(YMCA) and Steve Dazenski (Park maintenance). <br /> Meeting called to order at 6:33 p.m. at City Hall. <br /> A motion was made to approve the minutes from May 26 by Sherry, with a second to the <br /> motion by Stan. <br /> Terri updated the Commission on the status of paving Silverview Park trail. Terri and <br /> Sherry attended the Council work session on Monday, June 21 to inform the council and <br /> 1110 to deliver the Commission's recommendation to proceed with bids on this project. The <br /> council was in favor and staff will acquire information for the July 26 Council Meeting. <br /> Gary mentioned the importance of discussing with the Scotland Green apartments the <br /> potential changes that may incur due to the construction to Silverview trail. Issues such <br /> as the movement of playground pieces, and access to the trail through their parking lot, <br /> should be discussed and in writing. <br /> Discussion on the other two trail pavings; Woodcrest to H2 and along Silver Lake Road, <br /> continued. Steve and Gary drove to the sites to confirm the locations. Steve will <br /> continue to work on the feasibility and boundary issues. Stan commented that there is <br /> enthusiasm from his neighborhood on the action that is being taken. <br /> The Commission was informed that keeping the playground equipment at Woodcrest <br /> Park was not official. The City Council had discussed the potential of moving it to <br /> higher ground in the Northeast corner,however, would still take a recommendation from <br /> the Commission. <br /> Sherry made a motion to forward to the City Council,the movement of the <br /> Woodcrest playground equipment to Random Park. Stan seconded. <br /> After further discussion, Steve informed the group of some safety standard concerns, as <br /> • well as placement and fit at Random. <br />
