Kroeger stated that Jerry Kahn has not attended 9 meetings in 2002 and discussion is <br />needed regarding his removal from the Commission. <br />Lee said he has been working with the City for 13 months and Kahn has never attended a <br />meeting. He said that Kahn had contacted him on September 3, 2002 and assured Greg he <br />would be at the next meeting; Kahn did not attend. <br />Kroeger stated that the Commission need's to address Kahn's non-attendance. <br />Kunz suggested making the seat open. <br />Kroeger stated that it falls under Chapter 405.05, sub 2 of the bylaws. <br />Motion to remove Jerry Kahn from the Park and Rec Commission due to non-attendance <br />and appointment someone to fill the remainder of his term. <br />Motion: Kunz <br />2nd: Long <br />Motion unanimously passed. <br />Commission and Staff Reports <br />The board agreed that if no meeting occurs, those that can attend should come anyways <br />so this can be noted in the minutes. <br />2003 Budget <br />Lee was not clear at the November 21, 2002 meeting what the Commission was <br />requesting. <br />Kroeger stated that he wants to know what the Community Center expenses are (previous <br />years and actual) and also what the revenues are from the Park and Rec programs. <br />/ Lee stated that the 2003 budget is now complete and that the Finance Director is in the <br />process of printing off this information. Greg will pass it on to the Commission when he <br />receives it. <br />Kroeger asked how the new Hillview Shelter building is working out? Jeanette Steeves <br />replied great; no complaints. Dazenski stated that the building was opened last year too. <br />Kunz stated that he appreciated the interaction by the other staff present and appreciates <br />input. (City and YMCA staff) <br />Future Business <br />Silvis suggested having Rick Whriskey, Forester, attend the next meeting to discuss <br />future projects or tree sale.
