New Business <br />Park and Ree Commission Memberships <br />Krueger stated the Park and Rec Commission has been asked by Mayor Linke to make <br />recommendations, from the 4 applications received, to fill the 2 vacancies on the <br />committe. <br />Krueger stated that he believes the candidates should be beneficial to Park and Rec and to <br />the City of Mounds View. <br />Long was impressed with all of the candidates that applied. <br />Committee decided to refer to the candidates as 1, 2, 3, 4 (in the order their application's <br />were filled out.) <br />Committee members recommend the following <br />Kunz: 2 and 3 <br />Kroeger: 3 and 4 <br />Long: 3 and 1 <br />Silvis: 1 and 4 <br />Kunz motioned to recommend candidates 3 and 4. Silvis thought commission should <br />recommend a 3`d and let the Mayor and Council decide. <br />No 2"d received from the commission and motion dies for the lack of a 2"d <br />Silvis motioned to recommend candidates 1, 3, 4 to the Mayor and Council for their <br />consideration. <br />Motion: Silvis <br />2"d: Long <br />3 -Ayes (Silvis, Long, Kroeger) <br />1 -Nay (Kunz) <br />Motion passes <br />YMCA Executive Committee <br />Kroeger asked if there was a Park and Rec Commissioner willing to be a member of this <br />committee. <br />Long asked how often will they meet? Lee replied twice a year but because they are <br />behind in the meetings, more than that. <br />Roepke stated that a council member suggested meeting monthly until all issues have <br />been caught up. He said the committee will be more involved in the management piece of <br />the YMCA. To make sure that there is compliance in the contract between the YMCA <br />and the City of Mounds View. <br />Kunz volunteered to be on the committee. <br />Committee Reports <br />Lee stated that he will be presenting the citywide survey proposal to the council at the <br />April 7 work session and also the recommendations for Chapter 405. Lee also stated that <br />Rick Whriskey will be attending the March 27, 2003 Park and Rec meeting. Council <br />instructed Lee to continue with the pathway construction in 2003 and would like to have <br />the pathway by the Walgreens raised also. <br />Kunz stated that he would like to see the commission focus on the remaining shelter <br />buildings and also hockey rinks. <br />
