<br />Park and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes <br />October 27, 2005 <br /> <br />Meeting Called to order: <br /> <br />1. Roll Call: <br />Present: Kunz, Palm, Silvis, Long, Aukee <br />Absent: Kroeger, Kunza <br />Staff Present: Lee, Dazenski, Weldon <br /> <br />Commissioners Kunz was the acting Chairperson <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the September 22, 2005 meeting – <br /> <br />Motion to approve: Silvis <br />nd <br />2: Palm <br />Motion passed unanimously <br /> <br />3. Public Input - None <br /> <br /> <br />4. YMCA Advisory Committee Update – The Committee last met on September 6, <br />2005. There was no meeting in October. Items discussed included: <br /> Weldon did state that the YMCA created brochures. <br /> The issue of showing the Banquette Center to prospective renters was <br />discussed. The Commissioners suggested that contact information for the <br />Banquette Center be added to the brochure. <br /> <br />Kunz announced that Commissioner Aukee just joined the meeting. <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />a) Groveland Park Building Replacement. – <br /> Commissioners Kunz read ”This was presented to the City Council on <br />October 3, 2005. The City Council wanted more information. <br />Specifically, the City Council wanted to know how much it would cost <br />to create plans and specifications for a “stick” constructed building. <br />TKDA (Rich Grey) stated that it would be approximately $8,000- <br />$9,000 to re-do the plans and specifications and re-bid the project. At <br />the October 10, 2005 City Council meeting, the contactor who will be <br />building an office building in between Walgreen’s and The <br />Community Center stated that he would bid approximately $230,000 <br />to build the Groveland building.” <br /> The Commissioners discussed the cost of $8,000 to $9,000 to develop <br />the plans and specifications with “stick” materials. The <br />Commissioners commented that this was very expensive and was a <br />waste on money. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
