RESOLUTION 9937 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />JUNETEENTH PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the city of Mounds View diverse population now comprises nearly 1/3 <br />of the entire community, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has placed a high priority on ensuring all residents/guests are <br />equal, respected, heard, represented, and engaged, and <br />WHEREAS, Council created a Human Rights Task Force in 2021/2022 which <br />subsequently dissolved due to member life events, and <br />WHEREAS, residents Shauna Bock and Andre Cohen have agreed to Co -Chair a <br />Community engagement Committee, and <br />WHEREAS, the Committee has planned a "kick-off' event on June 22, 2024 from <br />1 to 3 pm at the Community Center and the Proclamation will be read at that time <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />That Juneteenth Proclamation is adopted and will be read as part of the <br />Juneteenth Celebration Event held at the Mounds View Community Center on <br />June 22, 2024 between 1 and 3 pm. <br />Adopted this 10th day of June, 2024 <br />AILstrom, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />NylLfkmurfd" , City A ministrator <br />(seal) <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirnhk Communi(v <br />
