Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> June 26, 2008 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call to Order 6:35 PM. Roll Call: Kunz, Kroeger, Palm, Peterson <br /> Staff: Dazenski <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the March 27, 2008 meeting and May 22, 2008. Motion by Peterson, 2nd by Kroeger to approve March minutes. Motion Passed 4-0. Motion by Kroeger, 2nd by <br /> Peterson to approve May minutes. Motion Passed 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. Carol Mueller, on behalf of a resident who was unable <br /> to attend. Thank you for updating the park playground equipment. Can we put in a concrete surface inside the rink at Hillview in order to rollerskate there in the summertime? Currently <br /> is asphalt, but we could resurface it with a better underlayment. Direct staff to put together a cost estimate, and investigate if we can tie it into the street improvement project. <br /> Year? <br /> <br />4. YMCA Update: Packet included information about 2008 Adult Co-Ed Fall Softball League. Tuesday nights August 26-September 30th. Fees: $280 for new teams, $265 returning teams. <br /> What, if any, monitary return goes back to the park fund with YMCA facility and field rental for all programs? <br /> Need to clarify flyer: Co-Ed, or “Mens” <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br />Greenfield Park– We should discuss the information that our Surface Water personnel have received from the Water Shed District. Still ongoing conversations with city staff. <br /> <br />As discussed at our last meeting we will be doing minor repairs to the trail surface and trimming around the plantings. Our next step will be to look at repair of the existing bridge. <br /> <br /> <br />Estimate of $450 for materials and staff labor. Project could be completed by end of July. Motion by Palm, 2nd by Kroeger, to fix existing east bridge at estimated cost of $450. Motion <br /> Passed 4-0. <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br />a.) Lambert building replacement fast tracked per city tour discussion. Repair roof and install donated air conditioner as temporary fix. What room is there to put in Groveland/Hillview <br /> building design? Do we need to get a site plan? Sewer/water connections? Staff will bring rough measurements of building and space to fit to July meeting. <br /> <br />b.) City Hall Playground Equipment Replacement Project – <br />This has been budgeted for in 2008 ($38,000). The Commission would like this completed before 50th. Dazenski said this should be installed in time. <br /> <br />c.) Waiting on one more electrical contractor to a submit proposals for running power for the aerators at Silverview. Two proposals have been submitted. Staff will have available at <br /> July meeting.
