<br /> <br />Silverview: 1) Fill and level horseshoe pits and adjust posts. 2) Suggestion to get MVCC to develop horseshoe league. 3) Develop tee boxes for disc golf course. 4) fill area around <br /> bench swings. 5) fill cracks in basketball court 6) possibility of tot lot playground near softball fields. <br />Horseshoe pits completed and disk golf will be completed later in the season. Ask MVCC if they are interested in setting up horseshoe leagues. <br /> <br />Lambert: 1) roof damage needs to be fixed and eventually replaced 2) discussed repair or replacing building as not efficient for heating and cooling 3) basketball backboard needs adjusting. <br /> City staff is working with Eagle Scout to repair roof section this summer. <br /> <br />h) Promoting Lakeside Lions Park: Have “band nights.” Encourage communities to have different nights for families and music. Teen garage bands, bluegrass bands, hired bands, etc. <br /> Kroeger contacted SLP city staff who indicated that in the past, Mounds View received an arts grant that supplied the bands and there was no city control over who came to play. There <br /> would be difficulty in setting this up and, of course, a cost involved to pay the bands. <br /> <br />i) Off-leash dog park. Where could we put one in Mounds View? Oakwood, north of Hillview? Arden, behind compost? Oakwood north on Quincy along freeway? Need to fence, chip, and gate <br /> areas? Encourage commissioners to look at site options and existing dog park behind Fridley water tower off of University Ave for a fenced example. <br /> <br />7. Commissioner/Staff Reports: <br />Park Sign Replacement Program Update: Seasonal workers are installing. See item “e.” <br />ALRC Biking Committee—Darren Peterson is a representative for that committee. No recent meetings. <br />Parks Promotional Video – DONE. Take off July agenda <br />Lions Lakeside Park Skatepark and playground update-Kroeger. Mayor and some council members were interested. No feedback from SLP Park and Rec. Commission. Not much green space available. <br /> There is interest, but no formal movement. Playground equipment will be installed in June. NO aeration on Spring Lake. Oxygen level remained at acceptable level. DNR has been out <br /> and will do herbicide treatment at the end of the pier. No other discussion received from property owners. <br />e) Staff has been busy installing new park signs, city signs and a corridor monument sign on hwy 10. They are also continuing to control weeds, trim trees, perform irrigation work, <br /> maintain turf grass and groom athletic fields. <br />f) Any Other Reports? NONE <br />g) Damage to Oakwood soccer fields and fencing in May. No damage to sprinkler heads, fields were repaired. <br />h) Concerns about bikes crossing on County Hwy 10 and cars pulling into crosswalks.
