RESOLUTION NO. 9941 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF (2) M500 IN -CAR CAMERA SYSTEMS AND (13) <br />V700 BODY WORN CAMERAS <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed and approved the quotes from WatchGuard <br />(Motorola) on April 24t" 2024 concerning upgrading our in -car camera systems and our <br />body worn cameras, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View and the Mounds View Police Department <br />determined this is the best value and fits the operational needs of the agency, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department maintains both body worn <br />camera and squad video footage, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has planned and budgeted for <br />the replacement of the old body worn cameras and in -car camera systems, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is in immediate need to <br />replace both in -car camera systems and body worn cameras, and; <br />WHEREAS, the M500 in -car camera system and the V700 body worn cameras <br />are both compatible with the cloud which we currently have, and; <br />WHEREAS, the video footage serves law enforcement and the public by <br />accurately documenting police encounters, preserving evidence, and increasing public <br />trust and transparency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the purchase of (2) M500 in -car <br />camera systems and (13) V700 body worn cameras at an approximate cost of <br />$81,370.00 for 5 years from Accounts 480-4200-3030 (2023 Public Safety Aid money) <br />and 100-4200-3030. <br />Adopted this 241" day of June 2024. <br />Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
