PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />6:30 P.M. I JUNE 23, 2022 1 MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES MOUNDS VIEW <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:30 PM <br />2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: °ndeF69n, Arel, Lillemo, Palm, Mills, Sullivan, Wake Wiesner <br />Staff: Peterson I Thomas *to be absent <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Sullivan, 2nd by Palm. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: May 26, 2022: Motion to approve by Wake Wiesner, 2nd by Mills. <br />Motion Passes 6-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight's agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. NO RESIDENTS PRESENT <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Parks and Recreation - Andy: See attached report <br />B. Public Works — Don: See attached report. Direct Staff to check on if there are infant <br />changing tables in the City Hall Park restrooms near the splash pad, and hopefully put them <br />in. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Community Center Expansion- Verbal Report — Don: There is a need to expand, there is <br />funding possible, but we need to accommodate for 400 parking spaces total. Further <br />investigation is needed. <br />B. Pickle Ball Courts — Silver View Park: Direct Staff to mark off the court dimensions to <br />the west of the building and come up with cost estimates <br />C. Random Playground - Installation Update: it's coming along <br />D. City Hall Park — Installation of New Pavilions: coming soon <br />E. List from IBL — Baseball Field Improvements: They would like fencing along 1st and 3rd <br />baselines, dugouts, and shed to store equipment at both City Hall and Silver View fields. <br />Direct Staff to bring back itemized cost estimates for each field. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Review 2023 Capital Park Improvement Project List: Reviewed list of projects. Consider <br />switching reconstruction of Greenfield Playground in 2023, and Hillview Playground in 2024 <br />(flipping what is labeled on the PIP). Direct Staff to bring back their recommendation. <br />B. Festival In the Park — August 19 & 20, 2022: Parade and Family Fun Night at City Hall on <br />Friday. Saturday will be at Silver View. Shuttle busses will be provided from MVCC and <br />another location TBD. Fireworks at 9:40 PM <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: NONE <br />10.
