PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />6:30 P.M. | APRIL 28, 2022 | MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:3 <br />2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Anderson, Lillemo, Palm, Sullivan, Wake Wiesner-6:36 PM <br /> Staff: Peterson | Thomas *to be absent <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Anderson. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion to approve by Sullivan, 2nd by Arel. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />March 24, 2022 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />A. Oath of office for Appointed Commissioner Karen Mills- by Don Peterson <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Parks and Recreation – Andy Thomas: See attached report. Wake Wiesner in attendance <br />B. Public Works – Don Peterson: See attached report. <br />8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Lambert Park Hockey Rink – Re-size and new boards: $43,332 plus 7% contingency. <br />Motion to recommend moving forward with the proposal to City Council by Lillemo, <br />2nd by Palm. Motion Passed 7-0. <br />9. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Review of City Forestry Program – Dan Wattenhofer. 2021 public tree inventory in city <br />maintained public areas, not including natural areas and right-of-way trees. Will be planting <br />100 trees from bonding grant throughout the city! <br />B. Park Tours in May: Silverview 5:30, then City Hall before the PRF Commission meeting at <br />6:30 <br />10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: Meet with City Council later this year after MVCC building <br />proposals come in. IBL would like to recommend changes to various ball fields. <br />11. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: Get back to nature book <br />trail <br />12. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 7:35 PM by Palm, 2nd by Lillemo. Motion Passed 7-0 <br /> <br />Next Regular Commission Meeting: May 26, 2022 at 6:30 PM
