SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> A. Oath of Office for Re-Appointed Commissioner Palm - by Don Peterson <br /> B. Oath of office for Appointed Commissioner Lundberg- by Don Peterson <br /> C. Vote on Commission Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary: Motion by Palm to appoint Gerald <br /> Arel as Chairperson, 2nd by Mills. Motion by Palm to appoint Laura Wake Wiesner as <br /> Vice Chairperson, 2nd by Lillemo. Motion by Lillemo to appoint Cindy Palm as <br /> Secretary 2nd by Lundberg. Motion Passed 6-0 <br /> 3. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Anderson, Arel, Lillemo, Lundberg, Mills, Palm, *Wake <br /> Wiesner Commissioners Appointed- Need Oath of Office — Re-appointment — Palm <br /> New Appointment— Lundberg <br /> Staff: Peterson I Thomas *to be absent <br /> 4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Arel. Motion Passed 6-0. <br /> 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 17, 2022: Motion to approve by Mills, 2nd by <br /> Lillemo. Motion Passed 5-0 Arel abstain. <br /> 6. PUBLIC INPUT Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight's agenda. Before speaking, <br /> please give your full name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. NO <br /> RESIDENTS PRESENT <br /> 7. STAFF REPORTS <br /> A. Parks and Recreation -Andy: See attached report. Seeking positions for Front Desk, <br /> Facilities Maintenance, and Custodial Staff. Seasonal Summer positions also open. <br /> Memberships and Daily Admissions are up in 2022 from 2021. Festival in the Park <br /> Committee donated $691 worth of scholarships to be given out for the Explore More <br /> Program. Fee change update: Very little negative feedback from customers. 50/50 split for <br /> residents/non-residents for Event Center changes. Revenue up in 2022 from 2021- <br /> especially in park building rentals. <br /> B. Public Works — Don: See attached report. Snow removal, ice rink flooding, roof raking. <br /> Winter equipment repairs and maintenance. Salt applications. Getting some equipment <br /> delivered for Greenfield Park. Woodcrest Park will have the contractor come in and start <br /> cleaning out the wetland to get storm water to flow better. <br /> 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> 9. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Update on Park Recreation Programs —Angie Gornick: See attached report. Coordinating <br /> with neighboring communities to share resources and provide shared programming to fill <br /> programs instead of having to cancel due to lack of enrollment. Sending out monthly youth <br /> program newsletters. How do we get info about MVCC programs out to the local <br /> schools? Since MVSchools uses "PeachTree" to communicate to families, anything that <br /> MVCC has that might be similar for competing participation with Community Ed would not <br />
