B. Public Works—Don- See attached report. Eagle Scout is installing bluebird houses around different parks. <br /> EAB is severely impacting trees in the city. Residents are not welcoming to the City Arborist to coming onto <br /> property and/or marking trees. Numbers are over 60 trees around the city, and over 60 trees at one mobile <br /> home park alone, which is private property. Residents who cannot afford tree removal could ask for City <br /> approval to have the cost added to their property taxes. <br /> 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> A. Fencing at Hodges Park— Long Lake Road: <br /> 1. 85' x 5 ft. high chain link= $4800, Ornamental = $9600; <br /> 2. 125' x 5 ft. high chain link$7500, Ornamental = $15K <br /> 3. Discussion includes moving basketball hoop to the south side, NO FENCING at this time, but perhaps <br /> putting a bench just west of the tot lot, and maybe near the western-most outset. Direct Staff to research <br /> cost of benches. <br /> B. Inclusive Play Grounds—Madison's Place, Woodbury - Commissioner Lundberg - Palm suggests that <br /> Lundberg contact Woodbury to see availability for meeting with us in the evenings or weekends. When we get <br /> a date and number of commissioners attending, we can post a quorum meeting if necessary and take a trip to <br /> Woodbury. Staff will also ask a playground vendors for their ideas of inclusive playground elements to <br /> bring back to the Commission. <br /> 9. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Review Fee Schedule for 2024 (Due 9-18-23). See attached report with increases in red. Discussion about <br /> what is considered "extremely dirty" for building cleanup as this could be subjective. Research cost of renting <br /> the disc golf course, perhaps in line with soccer field rental. <br /> 1. CORRECTIONS: Field rentals move to $16 for 2 hour block increase from $15. <br /> 2. Rental fee for Groveland, Lambert, Hodges, and Silverview STAYS at $100 and $200. Only increase <br /> Service Fee from $100 to $200 for groups of 50 or more people (but 75 people for Silverview). <br /> 3. Direct Staff to correct all "Random"facilities to "Hodges." <br /> 4. Motion by Arel, 2nd by Palm to recommend fee changes as suggested in red with the corrections <br /> noted above to City Council. Motion Passed 7-0. <br /> 10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: <br /> 1. Report from Director- Benches along Mounds View Blvd- City Council Staff Report August 14, 2023 -City <br /> received a grant for Ramsey County for benches along the MV Blvd corridor, but will have to pay $450 <br /> each for cement pads for each bench. <br /> 2. Report from Director-Ardan Park and Silver View Park Storm Water Ponds - Community engagement <br /> meetings with neighborhood and experts, at 5:00 PM Sept. 21 @ Silverview, then 5:00 PM Sept 28 @ <br /> Ardan Park <br /> 3. Commissioner Mills shared the concept illustration for the Tribute Park! <br /> 4. Recognition of those involved in Festival in the Park <br /> 5. When Woodcrest playground be replaced?The Commission has chosen for many years to let the <br /> playground slowly die due to cost, location, and lack of need. However the glider needs to be repaired. <br /> 6. Can we get more monkey bars at our parks? <br /> 7. What is the status of the dinosaur from Hodges Park? <br /> 8. Blue airplane is filling with water at Greenfield Park <br /> 9. Positive feedback from the Summer Program Staff <br /> 10. Congratulations to Don Peterson as being knighted Duke of Mounds View by King Boreas Rex <br /> 11. Possibility of electronic copies instead of printing all of these pages <br /> 11.
