Item No: 8F <br />MOLADS VIEW Meeting Date: July u 20ss <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9955 — Contract with Community Partners in <br />Youth (CPY) <br />Introduction: <br />Community Partners in Youth (CPY) is a non-profit, based in New Brighton, serving <br />youth in after school programs from the Cities of Mounds View and New Brighton. They <br />partner with Abiding Savior on a number of their programs. The New Brighton/Mounds <br />View Rotary Club is also a fiscal sponsor but many members participate in a number of <br />their programs and activities. The genesis for is formation was address petty <br />crime/vandalism/unwanted behaviors by youth after school. Documented reductions <br />have occurred since inception of the program. <br />Discussion: <br />Council discussed their request/proposal for a contact at workshop and consensus <br />achieved to support at $10,000 level. This amount was included in the 2024 budget <br />council adopted last year and is included in the proposed 2025 budget council has <br />reviewed. <br />Per Minnesota State Statute, Cities can provide funding for non -profits thru a <br />contractual agreement for services with said contract provided as an attachment. Note <br />that the City of New Brighton has an nearly identical contract (New Brighton has a <br />greater number of youth and their contract fee reflects that). <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />A progressive city that is welcoming and desirable destination to all ages and cultures, <br />who seek progress through partnership, and a place where residents can live, work and <br />play safely and show pride in the community. <br />Financial Impact: <br />$10,000 from General Fund <br />Recommendation: <br />Adopt Resolution approving Contract and $10,000 fee, <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Nyle Zikmund <br />City Administrator <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9955 <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
