2024 2nd Quarter Report—Neighborhood Resource Officer <br /> The NRO responded to 214 calls for service in the second quarter and participated in 8 <br /> Community Outreach Events. 31 of the calls for service were investigations, many of <br /> which were received from Child and Adult Protection in regards to the reporting of <br /> maltreatment of children and vulnerable adults. During the second quarter the NRO <br /> continued to work full time on patrol in addition to NRO duties due to understaffing <br /> levels of the department. The NRO also assisted with phase one of FTO for a new hired <br /> Officer. <br /> This quarter the Mounds View Police department continued the established Crime Free <br /> Multi Housing Apartment Landlord Coalition. New Brighton Department of Public Safety <br /> hosted a bi-monthly meeting in which several Landlords attended and spoke with city <br /> staff regarding some of the most common building and code issues. <br /> Through the Crime Free Multi-Housing coalition, The NRO has sent out one strike <br /> letter. There were no Strike 2 letters necessary. The NRO continues to work with the <br /> City of Mounds View Code Enforcement to mitigate any property management issues. <br /> The NRO continues to work closely with the North East Youth and Family Services to <br /> provide aid for youths, adults, and families in need of mental health counseling and <br /> community support services. During the second quarter the NRO submitted one new <br /> referral for services through NYFS. The NRO is continuing to work on numerous open <br /> cases with NYFS which primarily focus on housing and mental health services. <br /> Community Outreach event collaborations have continued between the NRO and the <br /> Mounds View Police Foundation. The NRO remains a member of the Senior Safety Fair <br /> community and participated in the Mary Ann Young center's Senior Safety Fair at the <br /> beginning of May. The NRO presented on fraud and scam prevention as Sergeant <br /> Schultes and his K9 partner Grizz conducted an informational session and <br /> demonstration. In June, the Mounds View Police Foundation partnered with a local <br /> business (Pink Flower Restaurant) to host a fundraiser where officers stood by to speak <br /> with citizens regarding any concerns. Both K9 Grizz and K9 Ace along with their <br /> respected handlers were also in attendance and participated in meet and greets. The <br /> NRO participated and hosted several other outreach events such as the MN Special <br /> Olympics torch run, Bicycle helmet fittings with SBM Fire, the ALC Resource fair, <br /> various Rockwall events in the area, and others. <br /> The NRO continues to monitor and stay consistent with predatory offenders registered <br /> in Mounds View. The NRO continues to work with those registered to ensure <br /> information stays up to date and check on convictions of those who ask if they are <br /> eligible to move into the city in compliance with our ordinance. <br /> Current and relevant information continues to be posted on Nextdoor.com, (X) formerly <br /> Twitter, and Instagram. <br />
