Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br />January 26, 2006 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />1. Roll Call <br /> <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the December 15, 2005 meeting – Are currently not available, but will be created as soon as the City contracts for a minute taker for Parks. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. <br /> <br /> <br />4. YMCA Advisory Committee Update <br /> <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />Groveland Park Building Replacement – <br />The City Council approved a resolution on January 9, 2006 to authorize to advertise for bids, and set a bid date of February 21, 2006 for the Groveland Park Building Replacement Project. <br /> An informational flyer was sent out on January 23, 2006 to building contractors in an effort to obtain favorable bids. The mailing list was a combination of: 1) Builders who have heard <br /> about this project and expressed an interest in bidding on it, 2.) Builders who have been issued a permit by the City of Mounds View from 2003 to present, and 3.) Building contractors <br /> listed in the yellow pages who are located twenty miles or less from Mounds View. Advertisement will also be published in the Mounds View Bulletin and the Construction Bulletin as required <br /> by State Statute. <br /> <br />Random Park Building Replacement Project – <br />The City's consultant has explored the feasibility of changing the design of the parking lot at Random Park. An alternative design would move the parking lot to the east approximately <br /> 42 feet, have the access off of Ridge Lane instead of Long Lake Road, and add increase the number of stalls from 10 to 14. The bids will be amended to include this alternate design <br /> as a bid alternate. Staff will be contacting adjacent property owners to discuss the alternate parking lot design. A pre-bid meeting was held on January 24, 2006 with six bid holders. <br /> Bids will be received on February 2, 2006. <br /> <br />Oakwood Park Renovation Project – <br />The draft plan along with a line item list of proposed items and their associated costs would be presented at the January Commission Meeting. A tentative schedule is as follows: <br />Park and Recreation Commission reviews/ comments on plan January 26, 2006 <br />Plan presented to the City Council at a Work Session February 6, 2006 <br />Plan presented at a neighborhood meeting Mid/Late February 2006 <br />City Council approves plan and order project March 13, 2006 <br />Work Begins Late March
