<br />A motion was made to direct staff to bring this issue back to the City Council with the Commissioner’s previous recommendation to re-bid this project in an effort to obtain more favorable <br /> bids. This would be done by changing the specifications to give the contractor the entire 2006 construction season to complete the project. There would also be an advertisement campaign <br /> to reach the smaller contractors who typically do not bid on public contracts. <br /> <br />Motion made by: Palm <br /> 2nd: Long <br />Motion passed unanimously <br /> <br />Dazenski presented pictures of two park buildings that were recently constructed in Arden Hills. One was built for $650,000 and the other was $350,000. <br />The Commissioners wanted to stress the point to the City Council that a “stick constructed” building does not make a good nor durable park building. <br /> <br />Random Park Building / Golf Course Building – <br />Commissioners Kunz read ”This too was presented to the City Council on October 3, 2005. The City Council wanted to pursue this possibility. On October 13, 2005 Staff met with the firm <br /> of Bonrestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates (BRAA) to review the Clubhouse, the Random building site, and to discuss the City needs in determining. BRAA will be submitting a letter <br /> proposal to the City prior to Thursday, October 27, 2005.” <br />BRAA did not submit the letter proposal at the time of the meeting. It is anticipated that this will be submitted early the week of October 31st. <br />The Commissioners discussed setting up a neighborhood meeting at Random Park <br />The dates that were selected were Wednesday, November 9th or Thursday, November 10th. The date will be selected based on availability of the Random Park building. <br />Notices could be sent out to nearby properties on Friday October 28th. Advertisement for the meeting will also be added to the City’s web site and cable TV. <br /> <br />A motion was made to direct staff to coordinate with the YMCA and advertise for a Neighborhood Meeting at Random Park to discuss the proposal to move the Golf Course Clubhouse to Random <br /> Park. <br /> <br />Motion made by: Aukee <br /> 2nd: Long <br />Motion passed unanimously
