<br /> <br /> <br />A draft Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has been developed for this program. It shows: <br />Segments 9-10, Long Lake Road to Silver Lake Road on the south side being constructed in 2006 <br />Segments 1-5, County Road H to Silver Lake Road on the north side being constructed in 2008 <br />Segment 6, Silver Lake Road to Pleasant View Drive on the north side being constructed in 2009 <br />Segments 7-8, Pleasant View Drive to Silver Lake Road on the south side being constructed in 2010 <br />Segment 11, Edgewood Drive to Woodale Drive on the south side being constructed in 2011(this segment will most likely be more dependent on re-development rather than a set time frame) <br /> <br />The Draft CIP was presented to the City Council on April 3, 2006. The City Council recommended that the City should seek to construct trailway segments 1-5 in 2007 utilizing City Funds <br /> and seek to be reimbursed with the federal grant funds at a later date when they become available. The CIP was then changed to reflect construction in 2007. <br /> <br />The City also submitted a DNR Trailway Grant application for the segment on the south side in between Silver Lake Road and Long Lake Road (segments 9-10) on February 28, 2006. The City <br /> will know if we were successful or not with this grant application in June of this year. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Walkable Communities Work shop was held on May 11, 2006. <br /> <br />Gateway Monuments – On March 6, 2006, the City Council indicated a desire to look into the feasibility and costs associated with constructing the County Road 10 Gateway Monument Signage. <br /> There are three monument signs under consideration–East Entrance, West Entrance, and Civic District Trail Gateway. The City’s consultant has submitted letter proposal to look into developing <br /> a schematic design for each of these signs. This will was presented to City Council on May 1, 2006. The City Council did not was to pursue this at this time. Citing that other priorities <br /> such as pedestrian crossing safety and trailways should be considered at this time. Council also expressed an interest in looking into cheaper design options. <br /> <br /> <br />Facility Guide Update – On Hold; waiting for decisions on Mounds View Community Center <br /> <br />Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Project – <br />On April 24, 2006, the City Council adopted a resolution approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the advertisement for bids and setting a bid date for the Silver Lake <br /> Road Sidewalk Project. <br /> <br />The plan for this project is to construct a 6 ½ foot wide concrete sidewalk along the eastside of Silver Lake Road, from County Road H to County Road I. The current project schedule <br /> is as follows: <br />Approve plans / Set Bid Date April 24, 2006 <br />Submit formal Permit applications May 1, 2006 <br />Publish advertisement in local paper (Bulletin) June 14, 2006 <br />Publish advertisement in The Construction Bulletin June 14, 2006 <br />Bid opening July 6, 2006 <br />Award Construction Contract July 10, 2006 <br />Begin Construction July 24, 2006 <br />Complete Construction October 2006
