Hi County Road 10 Theme Committee Members,

A draft feasibility report for the first project of the County Road 10 Corridor Program has been completed - County Road 10 Trailway Project: segments 9&10. This is for providing a multi-use
trail corridor consisting of a ten foot (10’) wide bituminous trailway on the southside of County Road 10 from Silver Lake Road to Long Lake Road including pedestrian lighting, landscaping,
and connection alternatives to existing public and private property. A copy of the draft report is available at City Hall and will be available on the City's web site shortly (it's
big -45MB).

This report was presented to the City Council at the August 7th Work Session. It is anticipated that a Public Hearing will be set for August 28th for this project.

As a note, the next trailway project planned for the County Road 10 Corridor is segments 1-5 for 2007. This is on the north side between County Road H and Silver Lake Road. The City
has secured a federal grant in the amount of $525,000 for this project and the City Council has authorized the preparation of a feasibility report for this project. Other County Road
10 trailway projects are scheduled as follows: 2009 (segment 6; northside, Silver Lake Road to Pleasant View Drive), 2010 (segment 7&8; southside, west City Limits to Silver Lake Road),
and 2011 (segment 11; southside, County Road H2 starting at Moe's Restaurant to Woodale Drive).

It has been suggested by the City's consultant, BRAA, and recommended by Staff to develop a preliminary landscape architectural design for the entire trailway corridor on both the north
and south sides. Then as we initiate trailway projects within the corridor (as is the case with segments 9&10) these preliminary plans would then be finalized. This will insure that
the design features, concepts, and themes are consistent throughout the corridor.

The proposal to create a preliminary landscape architectural design for the rest of the corridor (segments 6-8, &11) will be presented to the City Council on August 28th. If the Council
grants approval, staff and the consultant would request assistance from the County Road 10 Theme Committee Members to help develop the preliminary landscape plan for the corridor. This
would consist of two meetings; tentatively scheduled for September 6th and September 20th at 6:00pm (just before the Planning Commission Meetings). The overall preliminary landscape
architectural design would then be presented to the City Council on either October 2nd or October 9th.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank You

Greg Lee
Public Works Director 763-717-4051
City of Mounds View
2401 Highway 10
Mounds View, MN 55112
