<br /> <br />Park Watch Program –Discussion of installing signs to place along trails and at parks encouraging park users to call city Parks Department for maintenance or 911 for emergencies. Possibly, <br /> “Should you observe the destruction of park property please call 911.” Direct staff to research fees to address signage. Aukee and Kunz will develop a “Park Page” for the next issue <br /> of Mounds View Matters. <br /> <br />YMCA Advisory Committee Appointments – With expiration of Shari Kunza’s term on the Commission, there is a vacancy on the YMCA Advisory Committee on which she served. The YMCA Advisory <br /> Committee meets on the first Monday of the month at 2:30 PM. Are there any Parks and Recreation Commission members who wish to volunteer for serving on this committee? Why was the time <br /> changed from 4:30 to 2:30? Commissioner Darren Peterson can attend some meetings flexible with his work schedule. The next meeting is March 6, 2007. <br /> <br />Meeting with City Council – Annually the Commission meets with the City Council. This has been set for April 2, 2007. Does the Commission want to develop a list of agenda items and topics <br /> to discuss with the City Council? <br /> *Oakwood Park plan <br /> *Improving ball fields <br /> *Attendance on YMCA Advisory Committee with regard to time <br /> *How does the Commission fit in with operation of the MVCC? <br /> *Does the City Council think we should attend more city council meetings? In mass? <br /> *Representative on BBC Committee? <br /> <br />Parks Promotional Video - The City will be creating a promotional video that will be shown on cable TV and at the Town Hall Meeting. This video will have a segment (5 to 10 minutes in <br /> length) showing parks facilities. The Commission wanted the video include showcasing Greenfield playground, Random and Groveland Buildings, YMCA indoor playland, fitness room, Tobacco-Free <br /> video, new and existing park shelters, Facility Guide. Need to develop by March 21st. Possibly include ribbon cutting ceremonies at Groveland and Random parks?? Email photos to Greg <br /> Lee. <br /> <br />7. New Business: <br /> <br />Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Random and Groveland Parks – Saturday March 10, 1:00pm <br /> Random at 1:00, Groveland at 2:00 <br /> Staff will send out invitations to include Scouts, Lions Club, City Council, Eagle Scout and neighborhood via press release in area newspapers. <br /> <br />Hillview Playground Equipment - The PIP has $32,000 allocated for the replacement of the playground equipment at Hillview park. Commission is encouraged to visit the park to determine <br /> replacement needs before March meeting. <br /> <br />8. Commissioner/Staff Reports: <br />Random Park Building Status Report <br />The Random building is in use and the feedback that staff is getting has been very good. The YMCA will start booking reservations in it now. <br /> <br />Groveland Park Building Status Report <br />Groveland should be done next week. The inspections are hopefully scheduled on the plumbing and then the fire system can be checked. The building is done and has been since last week. <br /> When the inspections are complete staff will install our cores so that our keys will operate. <br /> <br />Skating Rink Update <br /> February 18th was the last day for rinks.
