They have one problematic resident that is requesting a ten-foot fence to be installed due to discs going into his yard and loud noise. It was stated that the park with the disc course is the most used park in Andover. People like the course and vandalism has not been a problem. * Andover skate park- Vandalism has been a problem for them in addition litter is constant he believes the age group of the skaters is why they are unable to get the trash in the can. When vandalism was at its peak they did hire a skate park monitor. He did say that Andover is putting in a new skate park that will have a ten-foot fence around it to enable them to lock it up for disciplinary reasons. They are also looking at purchasing new concrete equipment because it should last longer than the wood. Wood equipment has a life of four to six years and even shorter if it is burned or chopped up. He said that choosing a visible police monitored location is a must. * Centerville- The skate park gets lots of use and litter is the biggest problem. He said the equipment is worn and they are looking at purchasing new concrete equipment. * New Brighton- They have had a lot of problems, at one time they did hire a park monitor. Litter is a big problem along with foul language, drug dealing and general vandalism to the equipment. They are also looking at purchasing concrete equipment. * Shoreview- It was stated that the skate park is used a lot but litter is an ongoing problem. Bad language is present all the time. They are also looking at purchasing concrete equipment. He said choose your location of the skate park carefully.
