Deadline for applications February 15, 2009 Commission reviews applications February 26, 2009 Council approves recommendation March 9, 2008 Award presented at Town Hall Meeting April 2009 Article in Mounds View Matters regarding recipient June 1, 2009 Staff has drafted verbiage for the award plaque. This should be reviewed and approved by the Commission. New Business: a.) Meeting with City Council — Annually the Commission meets with the City Council to discus various issues. This meeting has tentatively been set for April 7, 2008. Does this date work for the Commissioners? A list of topics to discuss should be developed at the February 28, 2008 meeting. The following is a list topic during last years meeting with City Council: • Oakwood Park Improvement Project • Improving Ball Fields • Operations of the Mounds View Community Center • Attendance of the Commission at City Council Meetings • Bethlehem Baptist Church — Donation Process and Procedure • Number of Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners? b.) Bethlehem Baptist Church Donation Committee — The Committee will consist of Jim Ericson, Steve Dazenski, Council Member Haul, Dan Weldon, and one P&R Commissioner. John Kroeger or Cindy Palm? (one could be the back up person) c.) Other New Business? Commissioner/Staff Reports: a) Park Sign Replacement Program Update — The four signs that were budgeted in 2007 have been delivered. These were for: Silver View, Random, Hillview, and Groveland parks. Only the Hillview sign was installed before the fall freeze up. The remaining fours signs have been included in the 2008 budget. These are for: Lambert, Oakwood, Woodcrest and Greenfield. b) ALRC Biking Committee—Darren Peterson will be a representative for that committee. Next meeting is March 16`x' at the Roseville City Hall. c) Parks Promotional Video — Vanessa is currently editing the video. A screening of a draft video will be played at the March 27`x' meeting for the Commissioner's review and comment. The final version will be played and the Town Hall Meeting scheduled for April 19`x'. It will also be play periodically on the cable network. d) Any Other Reports? Request for future agenda items/other business Possible Items for the March 27`x' Agenda.
