Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission Meeting Agenda <br /> December 18, 2008 <br /> 6:30 PM <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> Roll Call: <br /> Staff Present: Pete Szurek, Public Works Parks Division <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the November 20, 2008 meeting. <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. <br /> <br />4. YMCA Update: <br /> <br />6. Unfinished Business: <br />a. Hillview Park parking spaces: The City Council has decided to move forward with 15 angled parking spaces including two handicapped spaces and access, without the sidewalk. <br /> <br />b. Lambert building replacement <br /> * This is in process, departments have been contacted and discussions have been held. Information is still being acquired and report should be ready for January meeting. <br /> <br />c. Park Improvement Plan-Finalize <br /> <br />7. New Business: <br /> a. Comprehensive Park Lighting Program: Discuss in December <br />* Staff is working with Excel and with Maintenance Engineering Inc. Information is being compiled and possible report completed for January meeting. <br /> b. Elect Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary for 2009 <br /> c. Ballfield needs analysis (Lambert, City Hall, Silver View, Groveland, Hillview, Greenfield) <br />* Information on field use and needs from WMCA? <br /> d. Any need to discuss Comprehensive Plan Chapters (memo and 2 chapters) supplied by Heidi Heller in Community Development? <br /> <br />8. Commissioner/Staff Reports: <br />ALRC Biking Committee—Darren Peterson is a representative for that committee. <br />b) Staff will pull together names of Eagle Scouts that helped with city parks in order to acknowledge them with a plaque at the Town Hall Meeting in April 2009. <br />*In process. <br />c) MV Coach of the Year Award information submitted to MV Matters <br /> d) Report on rink status and other Park items. Vandalism…Public please call any suspicious activities into the police. <br />9. Request for future agenda items/other business <br />Possible Items for the January Agenda. <br /> <br />10.
