Pete Szurek spoke with Edgewood Middle School representatives and they have some space to <br /> possible partner with the City. It would be on district property with water and parking. This could be a good <br /> starting point because the infrastructure is there. City Staff would need to talk more to the District <br /> maintenance. Need to restart a Garden Club in MV. We have a Master Gardener with a group that <br /> maintains City Hall. Need a safety plan for residents to come onto school property. <br /> Direction from the Commission: Direct City Staff talk with the School District about the possibility of <br /> a partnership. Ask the residents present tonight to develop possible options and gather support from <br /> residents. Encourage residents to contact Public Works for"Adopt-a-Park" support in cleaning up current <br /> park land and flower boxes, and get materials and resources from Public Works. Work with WSB Master <br /> Plan Committee and Community Engagement Committee on a possible future plan. Commissioners should <br /> visit Edgewood to see the space off County Road H. <br /> R Park Information Video: How can we get the kids more involved in making the %virion?We ran work <br /> with Nine North to create an updated video with more widespread representation of diversity in our <br /> community. In the TikTok, YouTube era can we make these short videos that showcase each park <br /> rather than a 15-minute video? Put QR Code on a park sign that shows the amenities, connects to the <br /> video, and a link to how to rent the building. Needs to include closed-captioning. Check out "One- <br /> Minute Tours" on Instagram. Could be improvised. Possibly show old footage of where it was in 2008, <br /> and include possibilities of where it might be in the future. Direct Staff to contact Nine North for <br /> more direction on how to proceed. <br /> 8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. WSB-Park System Master Plan: Candace Amberg gave an overview of the Park System Master Plan. <br /> Hosting Open House Meetings, Stakeholder Interviews, Pop up interviews, and an Interactive Map <br /> along with the City survey to collect data in July and August. First Open House on July 11, 6:30-8:00 <br /> PM at MVCC. COMMISSIONER REPORTS <br /> 9. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS/OTHER BUSINESS: City Council approved the Tribute <br /> Park Design Plan. The next meeting is July 9, 2024. The Committee can start looking for funding sources <br /> as the City cannot fundraise. SBM Fire will be the primary fundraising gatherer. Three Commissioners <br /> will not be at the July meeting. At this time we have a quorum, if all 4 other Commissioners can <br /> attend. Mills to take minutes. Need to be flexible next month on possible attendance. How can we <br /> set up a Community Space? No buildings, no playgrounds, just green space with maybe some tables and <br /> shelters to provide a place for community to gather. <br /> 10.
